Volunteers are one of our most valuable assets. Because our shelter staff is small, volunteers multiple our efforts, saving us time on one project so we can work on another. 

 

We always need caring individuals willing to share their time with us and make a difference in the lives of homeless pets and the community. 

 

1. Check out the volunteer positions below and see if any appeal to you. (If you have a special skill you want to share with us, call us to talk about it!)

 

2. Fill out our Volunteer Application Form and send it back to us -- by email, mail it, or drop it off in person.

 

3. Check the Calendar for an upcoming Volunteer Orientation, then register. These are held every month and are REQUIRED before you can start working. You can either bring a Volunteer Waiver with you or fill one out at Orientation. 

 

4. Once your papers are in and Orientation is complete... sign up for your first volunteer shift!

 

* If you are under 18 and interested in volunteering, you must have parent/guardian permission. 

 

 

 

Animal Companion -- Dogs and cats come to the shelter from many places, and need to get used to people to be appealing to potential forever homes. Playing, cuddling, and spending time with them helps them get ready to be adopted!

 

Bathing/Grooming -- Volunteers give baths and brushing to help our adoptable dogs look good. 

 

Dog Walker -- Help us keep our dogs fit and happy. Walking lets them have some one-on-one time with a friendly person and a break from their kennel. Plus, it's good exercise for the walker!

 

Kennel Assistant -- Support the daily tasks at the shelter, including kennel cleaning, sweeping, changing litter boxes, refilling water, organizing supplies, restocking, washing dishes, and more. It's not pretty, but it's essential!

 

Shelter Beautification -- If you're good with your hands, we can use you! Keep the shelter looking good by helping us with building, repairs, painting, basic cleaning, and lawn care.

 

Special Events -- Lend us a hand during adoption weekends, fundraisers, and other scheduled events where we need the support of wonderful, animal-oriented people.

 

Transportation -- We partner with animal rescue organizations that may require a trip to pick up or take a pet to its' forever home. If you're willing to help us with transportation, let us know!
